Planning a wedding at Markree Castle means embracing elegance, romance, and timeless Irish charm. For this unforgettable celebration, the couple began their day in the picturesque seaside town of Enniscrone, before making their way to the iconic Markree Castle. From the morning preparations to the final dance, their wedding day unfolded like a storybook – and I had the honour of capturing every moment.
Morning Preparations and Ceremony in Enniscrone
The day began with preparations on Main Street in Enniscrone, a charming location just steps away from the sea. Both the bride and groom got ready in nearby homes, surrounded by family and friends, which added a lovely sense of intimacy. The ceremony took place in a church also located on Main Street – a beautiful and emotional moment shared with their loved ones.
A Quick Stop at the Enniscrone Beach
After the ceremony, we took a short detour to Enniscrone Beach for a fun and relaxed bridal party shoot. The mix of soft light, crashing waves, and windswept beauty created a romantic and natural backdrop. This short session added a unique coastal flair to their wedding gallery, making it truly special.
Arrival at Markree Castle – Reception in the Garden
Upon arrival at Markree Castle, the atmosphere instantly shifted to that of a fairy tale. The garden reception was held outdoors under soft, golden light. Speeches and Sunset Portraits
Once the garden reception ended, we moved indoors for speeches – heartfelt, funny, and unforgettable. As golden hour approached, I stole the couple away for another short session in the castle gardens, bathed in the warm hues of the setting sun. This sunset session is one of my favourite ways to capture the quiet, emotional connection between a couple.
Dancing the Night Away
The evening continued with cake cutting, followed by dancing in the grand ballroom. The energy, the laughter, and the joyful celebration carried on into the night – the perfect end to a perfect day at Markree Castle.
